CAREER HISTORY (most recent employer first):

2000-2008 Designed and now publish monthly web-based editions of Caravanning News.
1995-2000: Information Officer with Queensland Government’s Office of Rural Communities. Editor of Bush Telegraph and Queensland Government Agents’ Newsletter. Designed and developed Bush Telegraph’s Internet pages. Also write and produce brochures and media releases.
1992-1995: Journalist and public relations officer in Media and Information Services at The University of Queensland.
1991-1992: Freelance work and short-term contract as journalist in Public Affairs Office at Queensland University of Technology. Media coordinator for the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science (ANZAAS) Congress, held at the University.
1985-1991: Joined Daily Sun in Brisbane as a senior sub-editor handling general news, world news, finance, general features, world features and television. Copy tasting from news agencies. Some page layouts and stone subbing.
1967-1985: Joined Express and Star evening newspaper in Wolverhampton (UK) as district reporter, covering all types of general news. Progressed to district chief reporter (leading a team of five reporters), assistant news editor (supervising approximately 40 reporters) and finally to senior executive responsible for developing news cover at newly-built National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham.
1960-1967: Trainee reporter with Oldbury Weekly News (UK). Progressed to reporter, sports editor and chief reporter. Duties included page layouts and subbing.
1957-1960: Apprentice electrical engineer with National Coal Board (UK).
